OK, this may be me just being paranoid, but I'll ask anyway. I recently got a decent pair of Zoot trishorts that I really like and generally only wear for racing and some brick workouts. They say on the label that they shouldn't be worn in chlorinated pools. Well, I've got a tri this weekend and the swim in a pool. I know the shorts aren't gong to desintegrate, but does anyone know if one short swim in a pool is going to have any noticable impact on elasticity or anything else for these shorts. Thanks.

One pool swim won't hurt the shorts. Wash them thoroughly with clear water after the race

The chlorine concentration or type might make a difference too. After the end of last season, I used my Zoot tri shorts several times in two pools. No problem after 5 workouts in the outdoor pool. After changing to the indoor pool, it took about 5 more swims until the fabric lost some "grip". Five workouts later the size had changed from M to XXL with no stretch in the fabric any more.

when you are finished with the suit, soak it in the sink (cold water and about a capfull of whoolite liquid laundry detergent for delicates)
for about 30 minutes... then rinse completely...

you'll be fine for a race or two every once and a while...

always wash your suits in gentle soap with cold water though..

I've worn my zoot tri top in the pool a more than a few times, and the pool I swim in isn't too heavily chlorinated. The effects of this are massive color fading and some small stretching of the fabric. So one pool swim won't hurt you, but using them regularly for swim workouts in the pool isn't something I'd recommend.
