Hokey Pokey? :D

So uh, Ive been trying to grasp the whole jumping on the bike from one side and swinging the leg over while rolling - it hasnt been pretty in my practice runs. ;p Any tips?? Also, Ive been debating if I should practice that, or practice with the shoes clipped in already - I'm having some trouble with both. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Just walk through it in slow motion the first few times. The gradually speed it up. Even if your "flying mount" isnt quite flying, having your shoes in already WILL save you time.

I've tried it both ways and I am consistemtly faster with shoes pre clipped.

Where exactly are you running into difficulty?

If you have an indoor trainer you can practice the evolution while the bike is stationary. This will allow you to get comfortable with the process of pedaling with your feet on top of the shoes and getting into them quickly and safely. Practice by looking straight ahead and inserting your feet by feel.

Thanks for the tips guys....

As far as clipping in and trying to swing my leg over the bike, my problem I believe is weight distribution. Having one foot clicked in and trying to get on puts my leg and foot at an awkward angle. I will practice more with my shoes already on the bike...it makes more sense rather than jumping on it. ;p

Yeah, ya dont clip in the left leg and then swing the right leg over- doesnt work. Leave the shoes on and jump on and you'll see some improvement ;)
