i just spit in mine, rub it round the inside. It's gross but effective!

I used to try the spit and swim thing but found I always had dry mouth before a race.

word...i bought some of the speedo anti-fog stuff and its crap...so i tried spitting in them yesterday before i swam and they didn't fog up at all...
Oof! I would've been pissed if I had to pull out due to something like that! My eyes were burning after the swim too, but I just marked it up to lovely things growing in Buffalo Springs. Thankfully, it pretty much went away once I got them some fresh air.
I don't get too hung up on anti-fog products. I've been swimming long enough that I just accept fogging as part of swimming. How much do you really need to see anyway? Stick your head up, catch a glimpse of orange, keep going. I guess the only time it was a problem was a race where all of the men had orange swim caps and if you saw orange you didn't know if it was the bouy or a person off course.

^^ WHAT HE SAID....
It's always the best thing to do... just for the reason you described...
sorry about your eyes...

Do the directions say to let the solution sit? The stuff I use (don't recall off the top of my head) says to spray, rub, and immediately rinse.
Might want to double check the bottle, just to be sure.

Had an interesting (and very painful) experience yesterday at the Buffalo Springs Lake Half Ironman. Seems that I put on my Auqa Spheres anti-fog on my goggles about 40 minutes before the swim start. About 5 minutes before the start, I rinsed my goggles out and got ready to go. About 10 minutes into the swim, my left eye began to burn. At the completion of the swim, I couldn't see out of my left eye and my right eye was very blurry. I had to abandon after 40 miles of the bike due to being essentially blind on the bike. The only thing I can figure is that the anti-fog dried on the inside of the goggles and rinsing them out didn't remove the film. Then, during the swim, a few drop of water got inside the goggles and dissolved the residue and got into my eyes. The pain was horrible, and driving home 7 hours with one eye open was quite an experience. I can only suggest that you either fully rub the inside of the goggles to remove any residue or switch to another anti-fog agent. Anyone elese experience something like this?
