With about 10 weeks training left, I can run 8 miles at a 8:15 pace, average around 18-19 mph on a 25 mile bike, and have not been in the pool yet (have completed short 1/2 mile course in 14-15 minutes previously).

43 years old and haven't tried a triathlon in 12 years, what chance do I have of going under 6 hours if I can train 10-15 hours a week?

10 weeks isn't a lot of time, so start swimming. lots :) I think you can do it, sounds like you have some base on run and bike. How far have you been riding on the bike? just the 25 miles?

If you can swim in an hour, ride in sub 3, and run in sub 2 you can do it. Also depends a bit on the course. Is it hilly?

find a local coach so you don't hurt yourself.

Hey man,

although 12 years is a long time, I guess some things will come back to you. The main thing is; swimming. No matter how good you bike or run, if you destroy yourself on the swim, the other two will also just be horrendous. SO SWIM! Right now, what are you reading this thread for, go swim, at least 3 times a week ( ever other day) the bike and run need attention too, but start swimming and I mean right effin NOW :D

Bike and run don't sound too bad, I guess you could do it in sub 6.
Also rest a lot, get your nutrition together and make sure you feel good on race day and have all your things squared away.

AND GET A COACH

Noel.

You should have started swimming yesterday. So do that. Can you bike the 56 miles? I hope so. Bump your long run up a bit, closer to 13 miles or try and do 13 a couple times if you can work up to it safely.
