Who's going? I know several of you guys and gals are heading up for the race, to compete or volunteer. Let's check in and get organized. I know there are many readers (that haven't joined our forums clan) that are going. Sign up and let us know.
I'm going :) and Matt is planning to do it as well, though his foot hasn't completely healed yet.
As well, being the procrastinators Matt and I are we haven't secured a place to stay yet. Can anyone recommend some places that might still have vacancies in the surrounding area, or camp sites? thanks.

I am going to sign up for next year and potentially volunteer--in any case I need to be in the sign up line Monday morning :)

We stayed at the Day's Inn last year. I know you have to book a room through IMC starting this year. Its a few blocks from the start but they are very accomodating. I know the host hotel had stuff last minute last year, and its right at the start. I am hoping to get in there Sunday night--or not, will probably hang out at the sign up line.
Do you know if people start right after the race? I had a friend sign me up for last year so I am a "newbie" on this part.
I'll be there to sign up for next year's race, but I'm not sure when I'm going to arrive. I think I'll head out on a bus (unless I can get a ride) on Sunday morning, get there for the end of the race, and get in line early. Sleep on the ground, chat it up with other folks, etc.
I'll wear my Trifuel visor so people can pick me out in the crowd. :D
Speaking of 2007 entries...anyone have any insight on some of the rumors that are going around about a change in entry procedure for 2007 since it will be the 25th anniversary?
I want to do it next year, but not sure how I'm going to get up to Penticton this year....
oooh I hadn't heard about that... would love any info, as I was also thinking of doing it in 2007.
Ironman Canada
I signed up for Ironman Canada in Californias Half Iron. I booked a place in a nearby town called Summerland for 6 nights. It was not cheap, but everyting else was full. I might be going alone, so if anyone is interested in sharing the cost let me know.
I will also race Buffalo Springs Lake Half Iron at the end of this month, anyone going?

I have heard no rumors--Just that its the same as always--registration on site. Are you trying to start a new rumor? :)
Here is where some of the rumors are playing out...looks like no more sign a friend up...

Count me in!
My family and I will be staying our "minimum" night stays in Summerland as well. Should be interesting competing 62 days after IMCDA...
Trevor
It's kinda a problem for those of us far away who have been setting up having another more-local trifueler get them signed up!
I'm confused as to how I could now sign up. *sigh*

Ok, so when are all the trifuelies getting up to IMC this year and when are we gonna have the Gu party :D Seriously, where and when are we all gonna meet?
I say Saturday morning at 8a.m. for a swim at the peach and after, a coffee would be a good idea. Who can make it?
I'll be driving up Wednesday I believe. I'll give you my cell before I head over. Saturday sounds good. I'll probably be hanging around getting some sessions on Thursday and Friday as well if anyone wants to hook up for a ride or run.
I intend to drive down Friday morning to register and to be in Penticton for Fri - Monday evening for the awards banquet. I will have a cell phone for the w/e and I'll supply the number when I have it.
Swim 8am Saturday, what, are you nuts?
Oh, all right then.. mebbe a quick one, but I'm not getting my wetsuit wet.
Geoff
I'll be volunteering at the medical tent and possibly a few other places. I'd def be down to swim with you on Sat BBB. Sounds like fun.
I'll be driving up Friday.
Excellent, another Trifueler to catch me. :) Definitely cool knowing there's going to be a bunch of Trifuelers racing, volunteering, and spectating. Will surely help get me through those last couple hours.
12 days to go.
I have just about enougfh days left to get in my swim training and I'll be set.
Anybody got some bodyglide to share?
Geoff

Good luck everyone. Have fun! :)
ya, maybe some post race breakfast. We'll be leaving on Tuesday so perhaps monday breakfast if everyone isn't in line signing up for next year :)
I will travel this Wednesday. The Saturday morning swim sounds great. My wife is doing the 5K Thursday evening and is even more nervous than i am, anyone else doing that?
Good luck guys. And gals.

I will have my (borrowed) cell phone on from Friday am to Tuesday am. The number is in the middle of the line below amidst the 4's, starting with area code two five zero:
abc4444444444250307322944444444aaaaaaa
That's:
two five zero three oh seven three two two nine
I'll be in Penticton by lunchtime Friday if all goes well.
I'm looking forward to seeing you guys.
I expect to get out of the water about 8:20am
reach T2 about 3pm and finish about 8:30pm
or 13:30:00 plus or minus an hour, heh.
Geoff

Ok, so if anyone wants to call me, not like they would  my number is six oh four seven eight nine five oh four two. I'll be there late Friday night ~11-12. See yas all Sat. a.m.!
Penticton!
Well, we survived our Whirlwind trip to Disneyland and arrived about an hour ago here in Penticton. We are staying at the Summerland Motel which is a stones throw away.
I have yet to put a schedule together as I have been internet deprived for the last 10 days. I believe tomorrow morning will consist of my first swim in 3 weeks at 9:30 - 10:00am and then register. My family do not have tickets for the supper tomorrow night as for my 4 & 5 year old to pay full price was not justifiable.
Anyone going to the pre-race meal by themselves?
Trevor
Only a couple of days away.
Best of luck to all of you.
Just becareful of getting downwind of BBB
The kapusta he eats gives him some bad gas :D
And they're out of the water!
Big Matt: 55:44 T1 2:35 (49th overall)
Tribro: 1:09:32 T1 7:17
POC: 1:27:49 T1 12:41
Tribro is doing really good, now in the marathon. Hefinished the bike leg in 5:56. PoC is hanging in there with a bike time of 7:09 Big Matt finished in 9:23.
Congratulations Big Mat!
1/2 marathon 2:51 for tribro. haaa!
And tribro is in! 13:14:52. 1195 overall. Congratulations, ironbro!!!
UPDATED 6:20 a.m.: Congrats to PoC! Also, congratulations to all the other trifuelers who toed the line--I didn't have anyone else's bib number so be sure to get those race reports posted!
well done bro!
Way to go Tribro and POC!!!:D :D
Good job Poc and I saw Trevor (toseen) out on the bike. He passed me in the ut and back section, maybe 75 miles in. Looking really good. Haven't checked his finish yet.
Thanks for 'virtually' cheering me on. I had a better than expected swim and bike, but really difficult run. I write up more in my blog probbaly tomorrow when I get home. Overall I loved it, glad to have one under my belt and I'm already thinking about how to improve my running for the next year. One big base building day :) Awesome day!
