how far?
Depending on where you are now, I'd say do the distance. 13 miles isn't too bad in terms of recovery. Make sure you work up to it though. There's no need to go force a workout and risk injury. If you can run 10 miles, you will be fine, but there is always that mental side of it knowing you can run the 13.
Yeah, a half marathon in 100min is pretty good for training. Good on ya!
I ran a lot of half marathons while I was "just" a runner, don't force a 13 mile run.
Maybe just add 1 or 2 miles extra, because you will start the run "a tad bit tired" in the IM 70.3 :D
I don't focus on the distance, more on time, I don't train for 90k bike ride, I bike 2-3-4-5 Hours whatever my trainer orders me to do... recommends me, I mean. And I might run 30-60min after that. But for runs, I just do 90-100min. in a nice slow, smooth pace.
I could probably run 21K in 1h18min or so, but still need to log 100min training run.
So focus more on time instead of miles, thats just my 2 cents

It ain't much, if it ain't Dutch!!
I agree with Noel, don't worry too much about distance. If you're running 9-10 miles you will have no trouble being able to do the run portion of the half, assuming you bike pace is appropriate. Even if you go further on your training runs, and you don't pace yourself on the bike you're going to be in rough shape. If you can run (even if it's pretty slow) you'll probably end up passing quite a few people, because they'll end up walking some.

I am doing my first half im in sept and I am wondering how many miles my longest run should be. My training schedule says 100min but that is not thirteen miles for me.
