Pain in the front of hip...
any "injury" that doesn't fix itself with RICE within a day or two...
see a doctor (especially if you have insurance and you're only out the $30 +/- for a co-pay)

I had hip pain too when I first started training. I think I was doing too much too soon. I didn't use ice, but it went away with RISE - Rest, Ibuprofen, Stretching, Easy workouts.
Here's a combination of stuff that worked for me:
- 600 mg. of ibuprofen, 2 times a day and 800 right before bed. Do this for 4 - 5 days. (I'm in the school of taking NO pain medication until it's needed, but taking copious amounts when it is.)
- Rest for about a week.
- Stretching at least twice a day for 1/2 hour
- Taking it easy when you start working out again
My hip still gets tight sometimes, and when it does, I immediately cut down the frequency, intensity, and duration of my workout.
Have you changed your bike or your bike setup lately?

I am having some pain located at the front of the hip on the right side and it feels like a muscle that attachs down to the top of the quads. It hurts to left in a sitted position and to push down when sliding on shoes. The wierd thing is I can run (medium pace 9min/miles) and it doesn't hurt. In the same sitted position at my desk it hurts to keep foot planted and to rotate to the left. ANY IDEAS????
This became a small problem after a bike day, didn't bother me the next day on my run day, but at the end of my rest day on Wednesday it was hurting when doing the above actions. I am using RICE but do you think I need to do more??? Like see a doctor?
