Knowing Your Body

When I first started running around 3 years ago, I lost a dramatic amount of weight. (40 pounds)
Since then, my weight has stayed centrally between 140 and 150.
Moreover, it has changed in terms of composition: Formerly running-centric, to more strength in my upper body and quads since employing cycling training and swimming.
I monitor my diet religiously, but am wondering if anyone else out there in Tri-Land can observe the variations in body composition on a weekly or even daily basis, and if so, what do you take from it?

I do see variations. Often it is an indicator of how rushed I was the week before, and as a result how well I was eating. Or it will indicate which sport I've been spending most of my time on. Sometimes I also see variations based on how well I was hydrated the week before. What do I take from it? Mostly that little things do influence my body, and then I keep that in mind and I work with what I've got.

Thats a good theory. You are so right, about the little things. I find that certain foods create a certain balance. Bad foods = poor concentration, irritability, while good foods when properly timed can provide an incredible sense of recovery/satiation. .

You guys are surely right...body changes go from one day to another...
Depending of many factors and variables...
In my case some weeks are harder than others in terms of work...so as a result some times my sleep gets cut a little during nights.....and that really affects my body composition.....some days I look skinier...bulkier....leaner....depends....
Depends of the week and wich of the three disciplines has more enphasis....
Also de hydration place a huge role....when I go for some reason underhydrated...that really changes de way I look.....
Nutrition wise...well, I am lately a freak...so my diet doesn´t change much....
Stress also plays a role on this...with the different substances that our body produces during stressful periods....like cortisol, insulin, cathecolamines...and so on....
Today....I came from a night being on call.....and let me tell you that I look crappy.....lol
