Hello, I'm new here
Welcome. It seems that you can run marathons in your sleep and that's the hardest part of IM. Get your swim and bike to adequate(sp?) levels so you can tap into that run strength of yours and IM will be shortly on your horizon.
Wellcome to the site sir....
Wonderful to have competed in 32 marathons.....
Best wishes in your trainning

welcome marvin...i also hope to do a full IM on of these days...good luck to you and enjoy the community of this great site...
Welcome to the world of tri's -
32 marathons - impressive!
No doubt that you'll be able to get in the IM - just takes some dedicated training - at least I hope so - going after my first as well.
Good luck with your training.

What a great welcome !! Thanks to you all.
IM - Amazing, but about 3 years ago...I just got the feeling, the sense that I was supposed to attempt to do an IM. Many times I have wished I could put this thing down, but my mind and heart seem to always drift back to it . I can remember that one year I did the Texas Marathon Challenge...5 marathons in 5 months. The next year I did it again and finished up with two marathons in a week. A friend said, "Marvin, you have gone on to another level."
That was 2002. Maybe it is time for another level? Maybe life for someone like me and most who are on this forum is going on to another level or at least trying to.

Wow!!! that is some impresive performance sir...that many marathons in that short period of time.....2 in a week.....impresive...
I come from a runner´s back ground and let me tell you that I want to be something like that someday.....
Congratulations!!

I tell you I envy the younger particpants in their 20's already doing this stuff. This didn't happen for me until age 37. Before that I didn't have a clue about endurance sports. To think that you guys at a much earlier age are doing all this and have all those great years ahead of you, the lifestyle, the positive impact and influence on those around you - Now, that is awesome to think about.

This is Marvin from Texas ... I am 62 years old. My goal is to attempt an IM before I get ushered off to nursing home and the rocking chair. I have done 15 tris to include two olympic distance events. Before, I got hooked on tris and had to learn to swim and ride a bike at an advanced age...I had completed 32 marathons....
that's about it.
