deep aero rims - extenders or long valves?
60mm valves work fine for those.
thanks - I'll pick up a few of those!
I had the Rev-X's for a while and the 60mm valves worked perfectly! Have fun being fast.
bump,
Question about valve extenders. (60mm valve tubes are way more expensive)
I just put valve extenders on my race wheels for teh first time and tried to pump them up but the air just leaked out. I'm assuming the threading on the extender isn't air tight. The directions say to use a little teflon tape, which is fine, except what do you do during a race?
Maybe I should suck it up and get some 60mm tubes.
60mm tubes are the same price as 51mm, 48mm, and 36mm at my LBS. That's weird. Make up a spare tube with the teflon tape and valve extendor on it. Strap it to the bike and you are good to go.

Where are you buying your tubes? It's at most a $1 difference. I get them for only a quarter more. Valve extenders start at $5. I'll take the piece of mind of having fewer parts to fail....

I just got myself a pair of Spinergy REVX and noticed that my inner tube valves are too short to poke out of the rim.
Do you generally use an adapter to lengthen this valve stem or purchase longer valve stems?
