Hey everyone,

Im going to say hello to everyone of you triathlon gurus.

Im 18 years old and I come from New Zealand I am currently studying sport and recreation which is a three year degree in which I hope to major in nutrition.

I havnt ever done a triathlon but I can swim, bike and run quite well and someone told me to do triathons! So here I am. I will be undertaking base training over winter (which has just started here) and then I will join a club around July.

I currently work at a gym as a personal trainer and I hope to be able to share some of my knowledge on nutrition and training techniques as well as gaining knowledge about the sport of Triathlon.

Thanks everyone,

Tim.

Welcome Tim -
Nutrition questions come up all the time. Hope the training goes well - Have your first race targeted?

Thanks, no I have not targeted my race yet but I have done a couple of endurance races before so Im not completely new to multisport. Im going to join a club around July im thinking then go from there. Until then Im just going to do some reading and preparation. Im quite muscle bound at the moment because I have been doing weight training for a couple of years so I think I will need to lose a bit of mass. Ill probably go onto a 8-6-4 routine intead of a 12-10-8 then I can sacrifice the size and not the strength.

hey tim

even though your a kiwi, I would say find a club now, they often hold winter base training sessions so you can get a feel for things before you get into it. Often Long rides and sun sessions.
