I have made the leap into tri training and am looking to upgrade my mountain bike (Trek) to an actual road bike. Right now I am looking entry level and have priced out both the:

Felt Racing F90 and Trek 1000 racer.

Anyone have any thoughts on which is better? I have always gone with Treks, but am not against a switch.

Spend a little more money and get a Trek 1200 or 1500 or a Felt f80. The Sora stuff that comes on the 1000 and the F90 is complete crap. I mean complete. Go at least Tiagra, but 105 is great and you wont need to upgrade for a a while. Tiagra is medicore, but heads and heels above Sora.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

I agree, Sora is just money down the drain.
Tiagra is doable, but if you want some durability, 105 is actually very good.. It'll be good for years. (Untill you wanna upgrade)
