Bike Cables and shoes
Adrian..Hey! Going great here Washington.(Maybe)
Get you bike down to the local bike shop NOW! That way if you need to make adjustments before the race you'll have time. Then again two weeks before the race for final adjustments/ tweeking.
Ride in what is comfortable for you...You don't have to have the latest in carbon soled shoes to compete. If you wanted to really go hard maybe, yes...but if your goal is to finish and have a fun day...I think you will be fine.
Have a better one!

It takes some time for the cables to stretch out a bit after installation, normally after a couple weeks may need to readjust a bit. So you have time.
I switched from road shoes to a pair with carbon soles and it does have better power transfer. But you want to make sure you have plenty of time to get in some long rides with them to make sure they are comfortable - no hot spots, blisters etc.

I'm actually changing mine out now, due to some sticking and I want them in good shape for some HIM's before my IM in Sept. I was planning on doing it in a month or two, but 2 months prior should be fine. I'll definitely do a tune up about 2 weeks prior to the IM.
Ya, carbon soled shoes are great!

Hi guys,
hows it going?
Would need advice on two things.
I have signed up for IronMan Korea which is on August 27th. Wondering when should i bring my bike down to the mechanic for new cabless, nuts screws etc....When is a good time ?
Second thing is...i m using a conventional type of cycling shoes *more for touring not triathlon specific*. Does it make a difference or more importantly worth the $$ to get a pair which has carbon outsoles?
Thanks and hv a great weekend ahead of you
