I think that my old basic heartrate monitor is dying (today is said that my heart rate was 63 in the middle of my workout!), so I will probably need another one...any suggestions on features that are helpful (or not helpful)? Or model suggestions? Thanks!

maybe you are just in REALLY good shape :)

I have the Polar S520, love it. There are a few threads on this and the HR monitor you get depends on what bells and whistles you want with it.

give me your training plan please!!! I have two the polar s150 which is great because ut has a cyclocomputer and the nike triax c5 which is pretty basic but very easy to read and even easier to use. By the way how did your first tri go? :D

Thanks for asking about the tri...it still hasn't arrived yet...73 more days! I am looking forward to it. I will post a "report" after it is over so that you guys will know that I survived!

I wanted to follow up in case some people are interested--I contacted Polar via their website with some questions and found out that they have a "trade up" program. Basically you send in your old HRM and then you can get 30%-40% off the price of the new one!

I have the Polar s720i. it will do all that you'll ever need except for power output and GPS.
