Tips: Getting your wetsuit on
Thanks Kyillee! I'm going to try that pulling the lower leg up into the upper leg tip...
I really don't have much to add...I use Body Glide on my feet and lower legs. I have also seen athletes put plastic bags (like grocery bags) on their feet to help them slide through.
I know what you mean about T0! I like to do a warm-up run but I always worry about having time to get into my wetsuit!
Getting it on, I'm ok with. Getting it off is the bear for me.
Speed hurts; how fast do you want to go?
I'll start another thread for removal tips to keep them easy to find.
- Make sure you're dry when you're putting your wetsuit on. A sometimes overlooked fact.
If you're having trouble getting things situated once it's on (groin area, shoulders, etc) hop into the water, pull your neck down, and grab a big scoop of water. It'll make the suit slide around on you much easier.
Just make sure to let the water out before the swim, otherwise you'll be taking in more water through the neck.

Emilio Desoto just posted a video on desotosports.com on how to deal with the T1 wetsuit, if you happen to own one, but I'm sure there's good info for any type of wetsuit.

plastic bags on your feet, better for training than in a race situation obviously

I learned a great tip this weekend for getting a wetsuit on:
You reach inside, grab the backs of the knees of the suit and the edge of where the legs meet the torso, and pull the lower leg so that it is inside the upper leg. it makes a full suit look like a spring/short suit, and it looks a bit odd, and is very thick. But then you just have to slide your legs through part, and so you are fighting less resistence. It made it a lot easier.
I've also heard putting nylons over your feet to make them slide better, and people both for and against using PAM (easier to get the suit on, but maybe bad for the suit).
Any other tips out there? It's always nice to start the tri without being exhausted from T0 ;)
