Horner's win at Romandie?
Nice win for the American. He didn’t do as well today though. Alberto Contador of Liberty Seguros took the Stage win and the overall lead today. Horner fell down into ninth place, 1:06 back. Savoldelli had stomach problems and coasted in with Ullrich 11 minutes back.

I am assuming he surrendered the jersey so they wouldn't have to work to defend it. After all Horner is working for Evans in the race.
Nevertheless, it was nice to see him win.
Speed hurts; how fast do you want to go?
Yep. According to the race report Horner was in the lead bunch with Evans until 5km to go but coudn't hang on. Cadel took 3rd and is now 4th overall. Not a bad showing for the D-L Team, McCewen winning stage 1, then Horner winning a stage. Are the highlights being shown on U.S. TV anywhere? (OLN?).

Not that I know of, unfortunately. It may be on OLN's Cyclism Sunday. But I can't find their cycling schedule on their website.

i saw that as well. He's having a great season so far. I think he got 8th last week at LbL and top 20 in the previous two classics. He's from Bend and I he did a talk this winter at the bike shop bigMatt works at. Talked about his tour and that day he just missed winning. the guy has an awesome attitude. He had no regrets on just missing the win, was still totally stoked to have been that close. He also doesn't train with a heart rate monitor, never has just kinda knows his body from riding so much. I found that pretty interesting.
arg OLN sucks up here in Canada.. all we seem to get are the Lumberjack competitions. :(

Thanks TB; I don't know how I missed it. I must be getting feeble in my old age ;)

That's not much worse than OLN in the US. It's all bull riding or elephant hunting with the occasional cycling on Sunday's. It's great if you want to learn how to take down a rhino from 1000yds with a sling shot.

True enough, but to their credit at least they DO show cycling -- not like ESPN. I guess ESPN doesn't consider cycling a "real" sport - like professional poker, for instance
[pre-emptive response: I know ESPN2 showed some of the Tour of California, but a lot of good that did me, when it came on here at 3:00 in the morning!]

Did anyone happen to catch Chris Horner's awesome win yesterday at the Tour of Romandie, where he pipped some real cycling studs like Salvodelli, Valverde, Jakchse and Moos?
It was a beautiful move and classic Horner. He's holding his own quite well in Europe.
