Hi,
I know I could look this up but I would prefer to get people's opinions on this. I have heard so many different things on how you should eat the week before the race that I am at a loss as to which one to choose. The primary ones I have been hearing about are carb loading and fat loading.... I am going to be running my first full marathon soon and am trying to figure out what foods I should be eating in the days before the race.
I generally eat pretty healthy except for a terrible sweet tooth which shows up now and again.
All my training this year including this marathon is gearing me up for a half ironman in the fall. So I thought it would be better to learn how to properly set my body up for a big race now rather than later.
Thanks!
Robin

The week before a race you want to ramp up on carb intake, reduce fat a bit, and keep protein about the same. Percentages around 70-15-15 make a decent guide the week before a race that I believe I read in a Carmichael's Food for Fitness book.
