OK, I'm not one to usually gloat but I have to today. I remember on the forum someone asked our 2006 goals. Mine mostly had to do with nutrition. My goal is to race my last half-IM on Oct. 22 at 16% body fat.

I hit a milestone toward this goal at weigh-in today so had to share.

Since Jan. 1, I've officially lost 15 pounds of fat (translated to -7% body fat) and gained 5.5 pounds of lean muscle for a net loss of -10 (scale) pounds. This puts at my lowest weight (168.5 & 25% BF) since HS.

At the rate I'm going, I should beat my Oct. 22 goal and maybe get there for my Sept half-IM. We'll see.

Ok thanks for bearing with me. Back to your tri-talking. :)

Oh, cool girl. Way to go! It's so rewarding to see the advancements after you plan and plan and then work it. Congrats on a great accomplishment!

I too have just yesterday accomplished the goal I have set out in my plans for both biking and running. See blog. The biggest advance is in a 33km run I did yesterday. My best last year before IMC was 2:50hrs for this distance and yesterday I did it in 2:30hrs. That's a 20min difference. I also PR'd for a 90km bike by 15min from last year's time on Saturday.

Wow! 20 minutes off your time is huge. Congrats! Keep seeing yourself getting to Kona and it will happen!

I haven't started benchmarking my efforts yet. I'm doing a half-mary in April, so that will be my first test of sorts.

I'm trying to stay focused on nutrition (eating/living clean) with the thought that I'll get faster just by losing some of my "little kid" I was carrying around.

You are doing great!!! Remember that the closer you get to your goal the harder is going to be, so keep it up.

Hey, that's awesome!

I remember when I started out trying to loose weight and get lean again. Every five pounds lost was like my birthday. Congrats on the progress, and keep it up!

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

Congrats - think of how much $$$ the weight savings could translate if you had to purchase bike components that lightened you up the way you're losing weight. That lost weight is worth more than gold and it's extra horsepower you're freeing up!!!
