$36.25 for 25 servings --- that's pretty pricey. A buck and a quarter a serving? Figure on several servings a day, I suppose.
That $100 per month for glorified kool-aid. I often use the real stuff --- original Kool-aid; still 10 cents a pack on sale (maybe 5 cents a serving, after adding sugar). Add a pinch of Morton's Lite Salt (a 50/50 sodium/potassium mix) for electrolytes. Junior chemists can customize the mix to their hearts content for nominal expenses to vary carb and electrolyte amounts.
Of course, if you got money to burn, you'll probably want customized vitamins, too; only $60 per month (see http://www.trifuel.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4770&highlight=vitamins).
In my view, these products are being offered to cash in on the willingness of competitive types who believe in the "magic pill" theory of training. I'm old-school --- hard work and plenty of it. There's no substitute and no magic pill. But to each his own.

I agree. I haven't personally bought any Infinit because it's too expensive. Water, Gu2O and gels are my solution.
I just thought the article on # cals was interesting...especially because there seems to be much confusion about how much you actually burn vs. need to replenish.
Or maybe that's overthinking it too much too. I guess the old-school way of eating candy, drinking water and Red #5 until you slosh and hoping you don't puke or bonk is an option too! :D

ok, but if it works for her thats what matters. You all would probably mock me for buying a $500 handbag too, but that is your choice.
Being the crazy math teacher that I am, I did a little math. The custom sports drink cost $1.45 per serving, with each serving being 160 calories (this give's us a cost of .9 cents per calorie). Let's take a GU, say the cost is $1 (which many of us have probably found a cheaper price), each GU has 100 calories per serving (this gives us a cost per calorie of 1 cent). So actually for a $1 per GU, the custom drink is actually CHEAPER. At $.90 for a GU the cost would be the same per calorie.

I received the same newsletter - I was going to post it as well. I thought that it was a nice straight-forward calculation. At least it provides a target to work from.

I remember a recent discussion about determining calorie expenditure on the run. I didn't do a search so just started a new thread. :)
Anyway, I receive Infinit nutrition's newsletter and there's a good article about how to determine the # of calories you need to replace during the run. It takes into account your weight and speed.
It's very helpful.
