I’m having a weird foot problem and I’m hoping someone has a solution.

A couple weeks ago towards the end of my long run (13 miles) I got a cramp/numbness on the ball of my foot below the three smallest toes and up into my arch. I was able to keep running and it went away after a couple of miles. It didn’t bother me again until this Sunday’s long run. It came back as more of a numbness than a cramp. It’s still kinda numb and it doesn’t hurt.

Any ideas what this is and how to fix it? Thanks!

I may be wrong but it sounds like Morton's Neuroma (sp?). From what I understand there is a group of nerves that get inflamed and they swell up causing the numbness and sometimes pain. Lots of stuff on the web about it.

Of course I am no doctor, but that is what came to mind.

I had the same prob. It was that I struck with the foot in a certain way. Just loosening the shoes at a point on the shoe laces stopped it. Try that.
