Tri Watch Recommendation
I just bought this watch about a month ago and think it's a great watch for the price. Not sure if you wanted a heart rate monitor, but this has got one. I can't find the site I bought it from, but I picked it up for less than $70 shipped.

I second that recommendation. I have that same exact watch. Over 1 year old, still going strong, have not had to change the battery on the HRM strap either(although YOU can, unlike the polar or the garmin). Good luck

I have the same one. I like it, though I wear it everyday and I have had the strap break. I am just tough on watches.
I've been using the Timex Ironman O.V.A. watch.

I really like it because unlike other watches, it is designed to sit on the side of your wrist. This sounds odd but this positions the watch so you don't have to turn your wrist to check your time. It's less of a big deal when running but more so when you're on your aerobars.
I now think that watches with the face on the upper side of the wrist (conventional face position) are awkward.
The OVA doesn't have a HRM option however. They run about $47

I wonder why Timex doesn't have a IM O.V.A version with a HRM?
I have never seen anyone else wearing an OVA so perhaps Timex didn't want to invest too much into OVA before getting an idea as to how well this novel way of wearing the watch is received by the buying public.
Personally, I think it's the best thing since sliced bread. I only wish the OVA system allowed for a velcro-nylon band replacement. The rubber wristband is custom-configured to fit the watch and nothing else can replace it.
OVA here..I love it... When I wear a regular watch now,I find myself always looking at the side of my wrist and wondering where the hell the watch face went!

I also kind of wish the OVA was re-named something else. OVA reminds me of "plural of Ovum". Not that there's anything wrong with that - but as a name for a watch, it's a little off-putting. I wouldn't want swim goggles called "SCROTA"...
What's wrong Deep...not EGG- citing enough? Sorry couldn't pass it up even though it was EGG-crutiating!
Hope your day goes eggs-actly how you'd like it!

For a watch only - not linked with a HRM
I like the 2005 Timex Ironman Sleek 150-lap

I use it a lot in the pool - nice lap buttons - 150 lap memory.
I mostly use my GPS for the bike and run.

Any recommendations for a good triathlon watch that doesn't break the bank?
