profile design t2 or carbon stryke
I had the carbon stryke - they were nice, but I hit a nasty bump while in areo and when I came over the bump had a lot of force come down on my forearm and it snapped one of the bolts holding the forearm piece. It was tough trying to complete the race with one forearm rsting mnostly on the bar.
My LBS/Profile Design replaced the bolts and forearm holder at no charge. They were surprised that it would break in the manner that it did...
But I eventually replaced them with the Sonic Stryke - these are a little less adjustable, but are much better overall. So you might want to take a look at them - http://www.profile-design.com/2006_product_pages/aerobars/sonic_stryke.html

thanks for the tip...those are a bit out of my price range though...
I have the Carbon Stryke and really like them. They are very adjustable and very comfortable. I put the 'pop-up' arm pads on them so they are out of the way for climbing. I haven't used the t2's but it looks like you would have a bent wrist and knuckles facing down grip on them which could be slightly more aero and depending on the rider maybe a little less comfortable during longer rides.

I would go with the T2's for better postioning. Its supposed to be more comfortable on the wrists, too.

i need to find someone with s-bends...i haven't really ridden much with regular aerobars so i was thinking if i just immediately got used to the s-bends it might be easier and beneficial in the long run.
I have my aerolites hacked so much that my hand position is almost in s bend form. I cut the up turn down to about 2 inches..maybe less, so my hands rest on top of the shifters. My arms def. feel better after a ride. The T2's would be an improvement, and I will be getting em in the next few months.

id like to see that...do you have any pics?
by the way, i would like to take a moment to say that i love this flippin' forum...i used to be a boulderer and all of the forums suck ass man, just a bunch of douchebags constantly trash talkin...its nice to be able to ask a question and get a real answer.
I dont have any really good pics, here are some webcam captures of my mods:
The upturn is ~1.75 inches. For the arm rest, I took out the taller spacer. In doing that, I had to dremel the bolts down a little so they could fit. Def. makes the bar a lot more compact, but still higher sitting than a T2 would be.

I have the t2's. They are nice. I like the position, but the position is also easily accomplished by chocking up on your existing up-curve bar. Maybe it's just me, but the position is NOT more comfotable than the normal bars. It dies take a while to get used to it, namely in the forearm region. Because of the curve of the wrist and the pressure recquired to hold the bars, it does use some forearm strength and if you are not used to it, you will probably get sure real quick. I've had mine for about 1 month and I am fine in the now. It probably took about 2 weeks (4-6 rides and/or 200 miles) to adapt to the position.

what do you ninjas think?
i dont really like the bulky profile design aero lite bars on my bike so i want to swap them out soon for something better...what do you think i should opt for? i have been thinking about either the profile design carbon stryke or the t2...what do you think? is there a huge difference in aero dynamics?
