I overslept for my early Saturday morning long run. OOOPS!!

I shoveled a little more than a foot of snow from my driveway on Sunday morning.

Then I went out for a run in the snow at a park nearby for about and hour.
I was running on trails that had that same foot + of snow.
The snow muffled almost all the surrounding noise.
All I could hear was my foot steps and my breathing.

It was amazing!!

Very peaceful, and a great workout. :D

I bet we all have been having a go with the weather. THis weekend I was rained out for the saturday events. I would have normally went out an rain anyway but I really was tired and I have a marathon saturday so I don't really feel like getting sick right now. SUnday I rode my bike in the cold and blistering wind for 40 miles. Pretty tough ride but it was cool that no one else that I normally ride with showed up. I always like to know I am training when other people aren't.

Rode about 70 miles on Saturday. Split up in about different sections; 40 mile group ride in the morning, 10 mile Griffin Vulcan test ride, and a 20 mile ride in the afternoon.
Oh by the way, it was 85 degrees out!

Saturday: 15 mi run - Found that it is not a good thing to stop for 10 minutes and take a cell call from work 8 miles into the run - as it was snowing lightly and it was in the low teens and windy. I was fine until I tried to start moving again... Legs started to cramp - took me better than a mile before I was only cold again. Really struggled through the remainder of the run.
Saturday: FIST bike fitting - Spun for about an hour and a half.
Sunday - Spin for an hour - working on my bike position.

I went for a run, dodging lots of people out for a walk, because the sun made a rare appearance. It was kind of funny because there was slush and mud everywhere as well as other runners. An older gentleman began to yell at me as I got closer to him. "No splashing, no splashing." I did do a wide detour, but didn't look back to see if I got him. On Sunday I was cranky the whole day.

sun-60mile bike ride in the cold, chilly even in the sunshine, but lovely nonetheless.
also saw the new pink panther movie, i think ebert is a blowhard but i had to agree that steve martins clouseau can't touch peter sellers'.

Pretty much a recovery weekend for me. Skipped the early morning run with the club Saturday. Was like 20 degrees and snowing. Did a 45 min. spin on the trainer in the afternoon. And Sunday went to 24HR Fitness with my daughter and swam for 30 minutes with lots of drills. And then 30 minutes easy on a Lifecycle.

Hey I wore a wetsuit for that swim... it wasn't quite that warm...
Besides, my tri wetsuit hadn't gotten play time since IM AZ last year and was lonely!

I mountain biked for 3 hours on Saturday in Wissahickon park in Philly.

On Sunday I went snowshoe running with my GF on the exact same trails for more than an hour. I hardly recognized the trails. It's amazing what 18 inches of snow will do to a landscape. It was beautiful.

Beat the rain for a MTB on Sat. morning. It was nice, as there was barely anyone there due to the forecast. Sunday... I slacked :( I think it had something to do with the 25mph winds the cold front was bringing through.

I took the weekend off and went into the back country. 5 miles by snowmobile, drilled through 15 inches of ice and went ice fishing. I felt guilty missing the workouts but my body needed the rest. I did a double workout on monday, felt great.
