Is the difference in having carbon components in your bike versus just titanium, when you're doing Half Ironmans or full IMs significant? I was looking to buy a Cervelo Dual, but was talked out of it by a salesman because it lacked any carbon to lighten the vibration. Instead, a Felt S22 was recommended. Any thoughts?

i dont have either bike, as I have a Specialized Roubaix with carbon forks (front and rear) and seat post. i definately would recommend carbon for its lightness and dampering.

more about the Roubaix line of bikes:

Both bikes are aluminum. The Felt has carbon seat stays and forks, etc. If you're concerned about comfort over the long haul then a pure carbon frame might be the better way to go, i.e. Trek, Kestrel. If you're primary distance is Sprint I wouldn't worry aout it too much.

Between the two bikes mentioned, I'd side with the one that is a better fit, then components, over carbon seat stays. A good fitting bike will give you the most comfort over any distance.
