Does anyone have recomendations for some road shoes? I have look pedals on the bike i just got but no shoes as of yet. I had mtn bike pedals before, so I don't have a back ground. I am looking to spend less than $100. I saw some Shimano SH-R098 for about $85.
Does anyone have a better recomendation for a long lasting stiff shoe?

About 3-4 months ago, I picked up a pair of Nike Poggio III shoes. I got them for $100 as they were on sale or closeout or something. Nike has made a bunch of shoes in the past and present for Lance and his boys and they seem to go on discount shotly after use (ie: after the TdF) These specific shoes are full carbon sole and very stiff.
The stiffness is immediatly noticeable and is a little weird at first, but turns out to be great. I absolutely LOVE these shoes. Look around and see if you can find them.

Specialized Road Comp. They are stiff and Specialized is putting these little bumps in the sole of the shoe that prevent numbness. Comfy shoes.
The '05s are on sale on Specialized's website for $80 down from $130:

I'm also a big fan of the Nike Poggio - great shoe. Very stiff - really transfers power.

Are there any other online retailers that sell Specialized shoes?
