Crank Brothers Eggbeater petals?
I got some for Christmas and they have been working fine. First clip pedal I've owned and I find them easy to get in and out of.
I've been riding with the Candy pedals, as I started mountain biking with them years ago, and absolutely love them. They are essentially Eggbeaters with a small platform around them. I have found them VERY easy to clip into because you can clip-in on 4 sides and clipping out is easy as well. I know that Crank Bro's makes the Quatro as their road pedal if you are more concerned about weigt and aerodynamics.
I also use Candys on one of my MTBs and used them on my road bike for a while, untill i got my SPD-SLs. They worked fine for sprint distances races and rides up to 40 miles. Longer than that, and I started experiencing knee pain that has not recurred since switching to the larger platforms.
They click in and out exceptionally well, with a choice between release angles. However, the cleat surface is very small and power transfer is a fraction of the SPD- SLs. Also, if you keep your shoes on your bike, with the Crank Bros are more likely to experience an unwanted release of your shoe when it is not desirable, such as when removing your feet or running with the bike.
They'll work, but theyre not the best option. I'd go larger platform.
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

Anyone use the Crank Brothers Eggbeater petals? Good, bad? Would they work for triathlon riding?
