I have met a few of my fellow trifuelers now,
IM Florida-
Riverbrady
Learn

Disney Marathon Weekend
Anton
Kona
Brittda(and Hubby)
PJT(and Wifey)

Who else has met anybody and where?
Then we can play the 6 degrees of Beads Game

Kinda like 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon, but I am much goofier!

Nobody yet but my next event will be Ralph's (70.3 California) in March. I am only going for the night before and with a few friends so that may be hard. However, I will be at Wildflower hanging out for a few days. I hope to meet some of you all there.

I need to get linked to Beads somehow.

I was at the same race as Tcrunner this summer, but we didnt "meet"... and then it seems not too many people from here did Disney.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

I'll be at 70.3 CA.

edit: I know there are a few people from here doing the race also.

I'm trying to set up a little pre-race ride of the course, Saturday February 4th, 8:00am. Anyone is welcome. I'll bring it back around sometime over the weekend or next week.

Panchotri:

There's a sprint tri here in philly on July 30th website is here

its not the excellent "City of Philadelphia Triathlon" which is on June 25th, but it's essentially a sprint tri on the same course as the great Olympic Distance Race. I had a few friends do it last year and they thought it was a good time. I may even actually do it this year.

There is also the Jersey Genesis Tri which is a superb race. Its in Port Republic NJ, about an hour and a half from philly. Love this race, have done it multiple times, although the commute is a factor. I've only raced it when I was staying at the Jersey Shore, much less of a drive.

Finally there is the Brigantine Island Tri, which is another sprint, In brigantine nj, raced it in 2003, its a fun little sprint...but alas, another hour+ commute.

If you're not looking to travel, I'd do the Philly tri, its right in the city, and you can brag to all your friends that you have survived a swim in the Schuylkill River...

If you wish to be out front, then act as if you were behind.

Come up to do the NYC tri. The swim in the Hudson will male you think the Schuykill is bottled sping water.

Maybe I'll see you this season.

Its not "bad" per se. The River here just has a reputation among the locals as being dirty, they do strict water testing for the 2 tris and the river has been clean enough for the proper officials to clear swimmers for the races. Trust me, it's reputation is worse than reality. Sea Monsters, Sturgeon, Snakehead fish, etc

Oh and as far as currents go, there usually isnt a strong flow, unless there has been a lot of rain.

If you come to NYC you can meet the dead rat that was floating in the Hudson last year.
And they say you can't have food on the swim course?

Relax RV...Beads is safe! In addition to Beads,
I met Kona...briefly, at Disney and Brittda and her man too but that was it for me.
Will be at Columbia (hopefully) then Eagleman...probably a smattering of Du's and an ultra
(I doubt you'll be there, guys) While I try not to broadcast my plans it would be fun to meet more trifuelniks and help Beads with his 6 degrees...

That means our space/time continuum almost brushed up against beads' dimension.

I'll probably do the Rockton Triathlon again this year.
Big Foot, too. That should be my second or third Olympic distance.

I'm 1/2 way though 20 miles of riding today --- better add a brick run if I expect to cross the line ahead of catwood this summer! :)

Do you remember the game from the early 90's
"6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon" ?
Based on the concept of "6 degrees of separation"

This is the idea that everyone on earth is only separated at most by 6 relationships.

A person you meet is 1 degree of separation.
A person that met the person you met is 2 degrees of separation.
and so on.

I've met Lisa (vollenda) and Jer (Riverbrady). In fact we all biked together this weekend ;)

Oh yeah and Brandon (TdB) and Randy (randy) and I were on a team for a SVS adventure race!

I might be volunteering at the CA 1/2 IM, so would meet some of you there!

dang I just got caught up and I've been almost covered as far as who I know already. So I better add stuff... Hopefully BBB at IMC 2007... and maybe Beads at Vineman (which I'm convinced he should do)

Is that the Vineman 1/2 on July 30th or the Vineman Full August 12th?

I think she meant the Beads motion... but you could join us at Vineman in Aug if you want (not if you fail to make IMC though, cause that can't happen :)). Although then I have to make sure I have another of you Canadian crazies to get me an IMC 2007 spot!

Beads, your monopoly comment almost made me snort tea out my nose. As I am not drinking tea, this would have been quite an accomplishment.

Anyways, I'm already offering lodging for those Vineman folks who don't mind floor space (and even that might be running low soon). I've also emailed the race people to see if we have a group of 4 if they can do anything special like they are for groups of three (the way Lisa and Jer and I have gotten our shtuff together).

I have made women snort tea out their noses before, but they were drinking it at the time.

I guess this is an accomplishment??

Anyway,
My front tire almost fell off my car this past weekend and I am getting it fixed, for about $2100.00.
So that is taking a big bite of my savings.

BTW
$2100.00 USD is about $500,000.00 in Monopoly money,
and $716,425,633,402.03 in Canadian Dollars
