Polar S120 HRM under-water/swimming?
Basically you could wear the heart rate strap and it will record your HR. I would suggest wearing a tri top to keep the strap in place as it can get displaced by the water if worm alone. Your swimming HR is also much different than running and biking, as a basic rule subtract 10 from your running HR or 5 from biking HR for zone calcs.
Although i train with a HRM running and biking I usually rely on RPE for swimming. No having to look at the watch to see which zone I'm in. Swimming is usually my recovery and think about nothing day.

What is a RPE? I am a really beginner swimmer, I began swimming yesterday. And I think I could rely on a HRM for better workout.

RPE is Rate of Perceived Exertion. Here's a link. http://ahsmail.uwaterloo.ca/kin356/rpe/rpe/Borg%20RPE%20Scale.html
Some scales can be found that go 1-10 as well. It relies on you understanding your breathing etc. You could start wiht the HRM to help you understand the feelings and help you figure out what zone you are in.
I tend to stay in light to somehwat hard zones for almost all my swim training except for intervals which I will push to hard.
I swim with my Polar HRM lots, it is fine. I've heard it may not be good for them to be in really warm water, so I'd take it off before hot tubbing.

Hello, folks...
It's me again, buggign all of you with silly questions.
I know that the S120 (very basic polar HRM) is water-proof but does it work for training swimming?
I'd like to train my swimming with it but I don't know if it'll work.
