Ouch Cramp! Help?
Ya, especially if it was immediately after a hard spin class - just need to replenish some electrolytes.

Ya, electrolytes would be my guess too since it happened the same (kinda thing) to me a while back. You likely need more Na and/or K; likely K

I get these often. I've tried running to the pool a couple times, swimming, and running home. I get calf cramps every time, but I hydrate well and get plenty of electrolytes. What else can I do? I would really like to do this on a regular basis, it's a good workout!
I wanna start placing in my age group!
if you are hydrated calf and foot cramps can happen if you have a stiff kick/ankle - try to let it hangloose while swimming and stretch it before getting in the pool. Use a pull bouy to practice relaxing your legs.

So I did a silly or stupid thing. I had a swim and a bike workout planned for the same day, no problem. I was going to do the swim in the morning and the bike in the afternoon. I like to take a spin class in the afternoon because the weather is not great for riding outside. Anyway, I couldn't get up in the morning for the swim, just too tired and felt the sleep was important. so I went in and took the spin class in the afternoon and headed for the pool directly after.
I was on about lap 30-ish when I started to get cramps in my foot. The it turned into cramps in my calf. OUCH!!! I was able to finish my 50 laps but it was painful. The next day I was really sore right where the cramp was.
Does anyone have any ideas on what caused this and how I can avoid it?? I am sure that it was a little bit of dehydration and cramps are usually from lack of potacium. So I guess more water and bananas??????
Thanks for your help.
