Really first time 5k
I'm no expert, but it seems to me that if you just started training 3 days ago, and your HR is that high that you should be slowing down, not speeding up until your level of fitness w/ re: running has improved.
I made the point in a thread last summer, that once I started using an HRM and slowed down my running to within my aerobic zone, I found that within just a few weeks I was able to go faster and longer while my heart rate stayed the same. I.e. my fitness was improving. I don't think you see those kinds of results when you're pushing yourself up in an anaerobic state time and again.
Don't give up! And don't compare yourself to others' at the start. Focus on what it takes to improve and you will. Good luck!
"It's very hard in the beginning to understand that the whole idea is not to beat the other runners. Eventually you learn that the competition is against the little voice inside you that wants you to quit." ~George Sheehan
Running ability does not transfer from cycling ability. It will take a little time, but you will see your HR drop anf your speed increase fairly quickly at first.
Couple of tips
Slow down - keep your HR lower to improve your aerobic ability running. Try and keep it below 80% Max HR. This will feel deathly slow sometimes, but pushing yourself hard is not what you want to do.
Don't do to much to fast - take at least one rest day after each run, and don't increase weekly mileage by more than 10%. This will help prevent injury.

I started running with my first triathlon - hated running prior to tri's.
In my first Tri, my 5k was a 31:40 a 10:13 pace. Now I am still slow but a recent sprint I did a 20:56 5k a 6:45 pace. So don't be discouraged the improvement will come - if you put in the work. Speed is not the issue when starting. Work on endurance and form and later economy and efficiency. Right now, get some miles in, leave the watch at home. Keep the HR down. There is a lot of adaption that the body goes through when starting out. It takes time. So, again just get out there, run and enjoy it.

I think he just means he is doing tri's as a goal to get into shape. That is my goal too. WIth out something to shoot for, I slack off. Since I made the decision I have signed up for a couple 5k's and a duahtalon, and I have been running, biking or swimming just about every day for a couple months now.
That's my take anyway.
My first 5K time (in a road race) was 23:35 at age 33. Almost 11 years later I ran 18:09.
I bring up the number of years to illustrate that if you're patient and train consistently some pretty amazing things can happen over time.
Good luck!!
But 23:35 without training at all? Or did you prepare yourself right for that race?
And also, guys, thank you very much for your patience with me and all your feedback. I just read Hadd's text and I'm gonna train below 155 from now on!

I had been running about 3 times a week plus doing some other cross-training, but at that time I had no idea how to train for a race.
Like a doing an endurance race, improving your running or (in my case) cycling and swimming takes patience and discipline. It'll take a while at first but then you'll make some relatively big jumps in run fitness.
Remember while you have the physiologcal adaptations in your leg muscles from biking, you're using the muscle differently and it takes time to lay down the neural pathways in your brain to allow you to use them efficiently.

My friend ggalvao...
I do agree with the other guys to tell you that you might be going a bit too fast...
Keep in mind that you are building a base for now....not being chased by a train (just a joke relief). Besides, trying to push yourself to much, might burn you out, or even worst, cause an injury. The Hadds´s aproach is really good...read and digest it well and you will find very useful stuff there....don´t panic if you feel like going as fast as my grandmother.....after a few weeks...you´ll feel good enough to run faster and stronger....
Some time ago...when I returned to the healthy life style and picked up running again...I was doing 5 k in 28:00 min, right now, I can run under 20 min the same distance....

Thanks folks! Once I have noticeable improvements I'll share them with you!

Well, I want to ask you guys what was your first time when you did 5k. Because I really don't know in how much time I am doing it, but it's a lot slow. I really suck at running. BUT my running training has started on January 1 now and I'm running 40' every 2 days. I think I'm getting around 35' for 5km...
and also I am getting 165 medium HR for that time.
Sometimes I think I should quit running and get back to my bike (I can bike A LOT harder and faster for more than 2h30).
So, what was you guy's initial time on the 5kms?
