I will be down at Disney in a couple of weeks to do the
"Goofy Challenge" + 5k.
I know a few of the Trifuel gang are going to be down at Disney as well.

Brittda, and PJT come to mind.

Maybe we can get together. Anybody up for that?? :D

I'd definitely be interested in a Trifuel get together, either pre or post race. If anyone has thoughts on places to meet, make a suggestion.

PJT

PS: Am I the only one here who is doing "just" the marathon? I feel like such a slacker. :D

yep that is the one that I am going to go to. Just to make sure I get everything right. It would suck to run both and then not be able to get the medals for it. I doubt I will get there any beofre that but I will be there for that one. SO any time after that is cool with me.

That could be a plan for the trifuel gang.
I think we should at some point meet up and hit 'Captain Jacks'

Britta can vouch for that.

My girl friend and I are flying in on Wednesday so anytime after that is good for me...Except Saturday and Sunday morning...I'll have my hands full both days.
I:00 Friday could be good...and definately for beers on Sunday!

Best of luck to all...and No, just because you are doing the Mary only doesn't mean you are a slacker...Lazy,maybe, but not a slacker.:)

I am not lazy or a slacker :)
I would rather not commit to something mid day...evening would be better --will be playing when not running.

It sounds like Sunday evening might work for a lot of us. Is this Captain Jacks place OK for beers/food?

As Brittda can attest Captain Jacks is good eats and drinks, and a good place to wind down. We might be able to meet up before at the expo on Friday so we can put a face to the name. We can support each other during the events.

Sounds like this could be a large trifuel group.

Its actually mostly drinks. They make the BEST margaritas!!!! The big food places are on the other end, ie: Bongo's, House of Blues, Planet Hollywood etc. Its down by the water on the West side (I believe) of Downtown Disney (the side where the big World of Disney store is) right near by is the Mickey Sports store, and the Ghirdelli Chocolate store. Maybe after the race before heading over to Pleasure Island???????

cell# 973-600-9634.

I will be at the expo on Friday, and definitely at the Goofy challenge meeting at 1pm.

It appears we will also be meeting at Captain Jacks in Downtown Disney Sunday night.

See you there.

I ran my first ever marathon as part of the goofy challenge. I ran the half in 1:35 and the full in 3:19. Overall good I feel for a first time. Was very hard though and I got sucky placement in the corrals. I had the last letter corral on both days!!!

Fortunately, I ran with Anton start to finish for the 1/2 and the Full.
I checked his times.
1:52-1/2 Marathon
25:50- 5k
4:38- Full Marathon

They unofficially called doing all 3 events the 'Dopey Challenge'

Anton- Thanks for being my running partner :D

I am hobbling a little bit.

I think the 42.4 miles aggravated the ankle issue from last week when I stepped in a pothole during the New Years Eve run.

Folks don't listen to that Blah,Blah,Blah..Scott was great to run with and his ankle was only PARTIALY swollen after the races! It was a real blast...It was Marathon # 22 for me and the most fun I have ever had...That Mouse Rocks!
Scott kept me laughing and I think we were a help to each other...But, remember Scott,..What happens on the race course stays on the race course!
We just kept moving on Saturday, saving gas for Sunday and Sunday was about having a dam good time.
For all of you guys patting us on the back (thanks!) I'll put this into perspective...If you run ultras you know that a weekend like the Goofy Challange is just a regular training weekend. If I extend this out to a possible 100 miler or 24 hour run this spring,Disney turns out to be a long, catered and impossibly fun training run!
And Scott...anytime my young Padwan!

Went to the doctors today I have a sprained/strained ankle.
He said it probably happened on New Years Eve.
It started to heal when I didn't run all week before Disney.
Then of course I overdid it at Disney, so I interrupted the healing process. I have to take it easy for a few more days.
He said I can try running on Saturday.
