I'm looking for some help in seting up (tweeking) my bike. I just added an airstryke aero bar to my cannondale cad 7 frame. My problem is when I am spinning at a high cadence(100+), I bounce on the seat. I have raised and lowered the seat, moved it forward and played with the bars. nothing seems to help. any ideas? Thanks

If you go to slowtwitch.com they've got some excellent articles on how to set up your bike for a good tri position. To help you with setup, either put your camera on a tripod and take pictures of yourself on your bike or set up a webcam with your computer in front of you so you can see your position.

The bouncing may also not be due to a bad bike setup but rather a pedaling stroke that isn't smooth. Work on a nice smooth pedal stroke and that will help with eliminating bounce.

2 Things:
1 don't change too many things on your bike position at once. And make sure that you marked where you started so that you have a benchmark to work from.

And second - it does sound like a pedal stroke issue.

I agree. It sounds like the problem is with your pedal stroke.

Thanks for the advice... I have done a few sessions of isolated leg exercises on my trainer at the end of workouts. I'll keep doing them.

If you really want to work on getting a smooth pedel stroke, get or borrow a set of rollers. They will kick your ass until your pedal stroke is smooth. Start out practicing with the rollers setup in a doorway to so have something grab onto when you ride off the side.

I have never crashed into my TV, but I have come close ;-)
