There's a fairly limitted selection of goggles and masks in the area that I live. Have people been successful buying masks and goggles online (without trying them on first)? Or should you definitely try them on first before buying them?

Thanks

I've purchased most of mine on-line as the selections are pretty limited in most places. It is a bit of a risk as I have several that leak on me. But generally most are fairly inexpensive, so not a huge problem. I just received delivery of a new pair today. From Aqua Sphere.
http://www.aquasphereusa.com/products/sealxp_clr_clr.html It was recommended by some others here on this site - so thought I'd give them a try. They do seem to seal very well - and have great visibility. Now need to get them into the pool.

I've don't think I've ever seen Swedish Goggles in the stores --- certainly not for $2.95 a pair. http://www.swimoutlet.com/Competition_Swim_Goggles_s/418.htm

These are the same competition goggles used by many swimmers. I bought 3 pair in three different shades online last year after Catwood recommended them. They're great for lap swimming, and for stashing away on your summer rides, when you can stop for a swim in a lake, pond or stream half-way through your ride. But for triathlons, I wear the Aqua Seal mask.

Everyone has their own preference on goggles and trying before you buy is a good thing but not always practical.
There are several good places online to buy goggles.
Kiefer has a large selection: kiefer.com.
I am really hooked on the Lane 4 Revolution Goggles right now (about $13).
They are great for pool swimming the nose piece / head band is all one integrated silicone tube, so they are infinitely adjustable. I wear contacts and they fit great with no leaks.
They are more of a racing style, so if you don’t like the kind that fit in your eye sockets, you may want something bigger.
Check out: lane4swim.com or finisinc.com.

I've tried aquaspheres twice and both times I had problems with leaks. I went to baracudas they've been great. I'm getting a new pair for the upcoming season.
