upcoming year triathlons?
I was registered for Ironman China before it got canceled.
Now I'm planning to do the Mooseman and the Timberman 70.3 in NH in June and August respectively. I would also like to do something later in the year (Kona would be perfect, hahaha) to prepare for Ironman NZed in 2007. Really wanted some earlier races, but I'm not going to be able to head back to the States until late May at the earliest.
In addition to some shorter du's, tri's and road races, I am registered for the following:
Shamrock Marathon (March)
Eagleman Half IronMan (June)
Colonial Half IronMan (September)
fall marathon...maybe Phila in November? I'll do a couple of half thons in there too...Most likely Philadelphia and not sure what else...
I plan on doing the Rock & Roll 1/2 Iron in Macon Ga in June and going back to the Chattanooga Olympic race in July. That down river swim below those bluffs was too cool and so was the current. Get your swim PR at this one for sure.
Would also suggest looking at the races organized by gsmtc.com.
Low key hometown typ races held in North Ga. Lake Chatuge is a dream to swim in. Cold & clear.
01-Apr Trail Breaker Marathon
28-May Mad City Marathon
-Jun Lake Mills Triathlon Sprint
25-Jun Aurora High Cliff Triathlon ½ Ironman
23-Jul Spirit of Racine ½ Ironman
-Aug Camp Whitcomb Sprint
-Aug Pleasant Prairie Olympic
10-Sep IMWI 2006 IRONMAN WISCONSIN IRONMAN
-Sep Devils Challenge Sprint
01-Oct Lake Front Marathon
The ones with specific dates are already scheduled.
The others are tentative or registration not open yet.
Pleasant Prairie may move to early Jun from late August, otherwise will skip it as it is getting pretty close to the IM.
I will do the following for sure;
CountyMusic Marathon 4-29
IM-CDA, 6-25 **Most important
Cedars of Lebanon Sprint Tri, late July; *this was my first and will always do this race!
Atomic 1/2 IM in late Sept, Oak Ridge, TN.
**This is a race that I recommend, IT IS HARD, very hilly bike and run. The finish is about a 3/4 mile hill that never ends. A very small race with about 200 racers, makes it intimate.

just was wondering what everyone was thinking of doing for triathlons this year?
So far I know of a couple of races I am doing for sure:
1..Clemson sprint triathlon Clemson, SC
2. Georgia Veterans duathlon (march) triathlon (August) Cordele, GA
3. Cooper River Bridge Run Charleston, SC
4. Cooper river bridge swim (2.4 miles part of the over under challenge)
I am interested in doing probably a few olympic to halfs in Georgia or Florida. Probably will do a couple of the sprints in Charleston when I go home to visit the family.
