Where to find an athletic trainer?
Maybe try a gym or go see a psysiotherapist. Todd
As a former Personal Trainer, I had a wide range of clients ranging from pro athletes to stay at home moms. All of them had different needs and goals and it was my job to listen to them and help them achieve those goals. Whether it was to rehab an injury, become faster, off-season conditioning, impress the girls at the beach, compete in bodybuilding, do their first IM, or just socialize. A good Personal Trainer is knowledgeable enough to design a training program to suit your specific needs.
Just like with any investment, you need to do your research and find one who can fulfill your needs. Make sure to ask for references, education, and training philosophies. Most importantly ask questions, ask questions, ask questions until you’re comfortable with that person.
If you still want an athletic trainer, contact your local college athletic department and ask if they can refer someone to you.
Good luck.
If you have a specific injury ie: overuse, sprain, strain , back pain etc. I would suggest a Physical Therapist who deals in sports related injuries. If you have an undiagnosed accute injury , you may do better seeing a Orthopedist--to first diagnose the problem (then see the PT).
Most ATs work for teams OR Physical Therapy clinics.

In high school and college it was always easy to find an athletic trainer, just go to the training room. But now I don't know where to go to find an athletic trainer (not a personal trainer, I'm looking for someone that deals with injury and rehab, not getting in shape). Does anyone know where I could find an athletic trainer?
Thanks
