On the bright side, I will be in sunny Belize on Saturday (which is why the run tomorrow) Wish me luck!

Suck it up, and get it done. I don't want you slacking down at Disney.

Were you able to get into the 1/2 too? or are you just doing the full marathon on Sunday??

Just the full. The half was closed. I have been running sucky since my IM anyway. I probably should have taken a real break since I have pretty much been training since I started for DW LAST year.

Oh, crap! that means we are gonna get it. How much do you have now??? Hope it doesn't reach here before I leave for home. I gotta run tonight too.

I don't mind the snow and the cold if I am dressed right.
But if it is warm at Disney again it is gonna wipe me out because I won't be acclimatized

Yeah me either. Ice is a problem here though because its usually (like today) warm then it gets cold and freezes when it snows. This half I did on Sunday is only the second one in 10 years where I had to wear long tights! I grew up running in Alaska in the winter, it just never gets that cold here usually. 40 is my cut off for shorts :)
I am doing a bunch of running on the treadmill inside hoping that will help with the warm weather, and I will try a few runs next week since its in the 80's where we are going.

Man, Seattle gets snow and everything shuts down. LOL. It's probably not even building up at all either, just melting . . . Sheesh. We've gotten about 1-2" today. :) Can't wait to go for a run in it. Woo hoo!

Have fun in Belize! I loved it there this summer. We were only there for a day, but it was tons of fun. You've gotta try the aerial trekking! What a rusn!

Man it's been snowing here since Sunday night. Yuck! I really don't like the snow and I don't know why I live here. I went out on my runs, well yesterday I went to the gym for a treadmill run cause it was only a five miler and I can do that pretty easy without serious boredom. I just hate when it's cold and it's been 11-22 degrees the last few days. Ugh! I don't mind the snow I just don't like the cold and I can handle the cold without the wind. Am I whining or what????

Has anyone heard of metal spikes you can get for your running shoes??

Its actually RAINING now...we are weenies yes. Traffic is a nightmare though. I am lucky being close to work today.

Other than IM in August I haven't taken any time off since January when we went to do DW (can you believe it's been a year almost? ). I get 5 weeks and have time to "burn" which is nice. I may be on tomorrow ..have to check email for work and all :(

YES. I used to run with those rubber slip on studded things (in Alaska)...they work pretty well actually .

Don't worry, I am a cold weenie too!

What is this snow you all speak of? :p

Woo Hoo! We get a Disney Half on the west coast. I'm doing it. It's next Sept.

Have a great time in Belize. I would love to visit Belize some day.

Well it hasn't actually snowed much here in years, and usually melts right away. People freak out and forget how to drive. Oh wait, they do that when its sunny , or raining too. Snow is a little worse though.ahahah

You will have a blast with that 1/2! I thought about signing up for it, but its a way to go for just a half for me. If they had a full I would be all over it!

Thanks! hope to have fun...Can't wait to dive with out a dry suit and hood! its WAY nicer.

I am concerned with the probability of not gettig much running in though. the Caye we are on is not huge but I know someone at the place who runs every day so should be able to get at least an hour in here and there.

Brittda,

You'll be in Belize this weekend, and you're crying?

Cheer up --- just think of the nice pics you can post when you get back.
Watch out PoC!!! :p

I am not wearing a thong under ANY condition! Would not want to scare any one away!
I am really crying at the thought of running 22 miles in cold slushy rain/snow more than anythign else...just feeling sorry for myself I guess.

Sorry, but I think that's required attire in Belize.

I'll have Chris FedEx his red one to you. Just remember to return it (washing it is optional!) ;)

Have fun in the sun!

Hey trimedic- I was just at the mall and Eddie Bauer of all places had these:
http://www.eddiebauer.com/eb/product.asp?product_id=27296&nv=5|21474|216&lview=&cm_cg=C216&tid=&c=&sc=&lp=v1i004

Not sure how they will work, but they look like they might work.

Of course they were out of tank tops....

I have some, but haven't used them yet. Mine don't have the strap that goes over the top, which tells me I should mickymouse something together when I do finally use them.

You should stop by the Tri-Cities on your way to Belize. I think I have every color they've sold in the past. Even two black ones - didn't know I had another one at home.
