Need advice on training plan

I dont see why you couldnt...I scheduled 2 marathons in during my IM training. Mind you I did them as "training runs" . In your case its a DU and its 3+ months out so why not.

I agree with brittda. Sounds like you are doing your base building during the off-season. So it will feel really good to kick it up a bit and do the du. Treat it as a guage for determining your early season fitness level. It is common to schedule races throughout the race season. And that far out from your A race is no problem at all. And it shouldn't really disrupt your training schedule. I'd say go for it.

This is my third year of doing sprint triathlons. I am finally understanding proper training plans such as off-season training (LSDs), training for A and B races and so forth. My question concerns participating in a duathlon in March. This event is scheduled only a week into starting my 15-week training plan for my sprint in June which I consider to be my A race. Will participating in this event hurt my training in any way. I'd like to do it but don't want it to affect my A race.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
