I was just wondering about spectators from anyone who has ran this thing before. My wife is going down and possibly my parents. I was wondering how they go about watching the race or where I should tell them to go so they can see me and also the finish? Any help woul dbe appreciated!!
I have done it 3 times (going for 4 this year )
There are a few good places to watch...
1.right at Epcot they can walk across the parking lot and be at the entrance where runners head in-- about mile 2 there is a water station there ...lots of people
2. the transportation station where you get the monorail/ ferry to magic kingdom (they could see you at mile 2--jump on the monorail and wait for you there...think thats about mile 9)
3 Main Street - in the Magic kingdom they let you in until like 8:00 w/o a ticket
4. if they do option 2 they can walk across the parking lot (literally) and see you at the 1/2 way point .
5. outside Animal Kingdom (think thats around mile 18)
These are places that dont require a ticket to get in.
Finish is back at Epcott, outside the park in the far parking lot
The run is a BLAST you will enjoy it
My personal favorite is the magic kingdom where everyone is cheering :)
I think Brittda nailed some good spectator sites.

for more info.
They also give you a spectator guide when you get there at the expo/packet pick up.
I loved running thru the castle in Magic Kingdom.
Great marathon!!
Thats right Beads, forgot to add that...I think they also have info on the web with maps closer to race time. The race packets usually go out in October so that info should be in the booklet they send too, so that will be any time now.
Another question from a first-timer: Does anyone know what type of sports drink will be available on the course? I'm coming up and my last few long runs and want to practice once or twice with the same stuff the race will have, if possible.
Thanks in advance,
PJT
According to the packet they sent the official course beverages will be Dasani Water and PowerAde.
See you there.
Thanks again. Because it's Powerade (with half the sodium of plain gatorade), I guess I'd better pack a salt pill or two...

It got warm last year and I was training in cold weather(probably like you) so I was not acclimatized. I was sweating more than normal.
I usually take 2 thermolytes about 1/2 hour before the race and then 2 every hour.
It keeps my electrolytes levels up.
