Friday night before the race, I have spent about an hour degreasing the drive train, relubing it, cleaning off the frame, and... wxing the hell out of it!

I guess its soemthing about the metallic silver color of the bike, its just BEGS me to wax and polish it before a race! I like peopl to think as I pass em "wow, he's fast!" and "what a hot bike!" And it looks good so maybe the ladies will like the fact that I take care of my, er...equipment :D

Anybody else get their bike all pretty, shiny, and smooth for race day??

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

You bet. I do the same thing. I try and clean it about once a week just to make sure everything is clean and running smooth. I'm trying to do what I can to make what I've got last as long as it can. Although I don't usually get to cleaning/degreasing, etc every week I definitely do it before every race. I like the assurance of knowing that everything is clean, in working order, and ready to go.

Ya, since I am resting this weekend I'll probably take the bike apart right to all the screws clean and rebuild it. I love working on the bike.

Take care of your equipment and it will take care of you.

Sounds like visualization to me. I see my fast bike moving strong
and steady. I have trained well. My body is strong,.I am pretty and so
is my bike.
