Japan this time...
Welcome! Tribro (aka Paul) does a great job with this site, as do all the members who do gear reviews, forum posts, blogs, etc. I'm glad you like the site as well! And good luck in your tri!
Hey David,
Welcome!!
I spent a few months in Japan back in the early 1990's.
I was stationed at Camp Fuji, at the base of Mt Fuji. I loved Japan!! Beautiful country!!
Where have you done races?
Nothing to it, but to do it
Welcome David, it's great to have you on board. As Kylie mentioned, the site is more of a collaborative effort amongst our members and contributing coaches. I just act as a librarian of sorts and help organize and post the info. The more members, the larger the knowledge base, and the better the site gets so it's awesome to have more people such as yourself join us. It's good to have some additional perspectives from other parts of the world.
Good luck with your race, I look forward to hearing about it.
1st Duathlon & 1st tri were at the Nissan Cup, in Oppama : just South of Yokohama.
Swimming in the port, biking on the test track & running between the factory building : Yummy !! NOT !
But it was flat : easier.
But I'm grossed out by the color of the foam at the start : sea water makes WHITE foam. Not there, it's yellow.
I'll try to post something about this week-end... If I survive.
Cheers
d :)
I was at the Yokohama Navy Base a few times when I was over there.
The ocean near the ports is disgusting
Very cool you are doing tri's there.
Nothing to it, but to do it

Hi,
I’m David, from France, living in Tokyo, Japan, married to an American. Just trying to make things clear.
I signed up on Trifuel as I keep finding a lot of info (products, hints, and so on) on the site. Whoever is behind it : good job !
I have been looking more into it lately since I have my third Olympic tri this week-end. Well, second to be accurate since the first one (last year) became a duathlon when they cancelled swimming.
In spite of my crapy (I’m being very positive here) Japanese, I manage to express my disappointment : I’m a former swimmer.
Anyhow, I’m exited about this race and I keep reading other racer feedbacks. I feel like a kid again & I’m very happy to share this experience with my kids.
Travel in Japan, do sport among Japanese is cool : they are nice & fair-play. That’s a good role model. And they have just the coolest / latest gear.
I’d also like to express my greatest respects & admirations to all IM triathletes – I’m not worthy, I’m not worthy !
Voilà , I got to go pack my bags… It’s so cool.
