Ive been looking around for a couple of weeks now for a decent site that can track your results from different triathlons in some sort of profile. Virturace is a great start...but lets face it-- the database is really shotty. I must have done about 30 triathlons that arent in there. I am looking for a site that has a huge database and a great interface such as Virturace's. Any ideas?

Not sure it's what you're looking for, but race360.com isn't bad.

Help me raise money for the LAF by donating anything that you can. Thank you so much!

sippindrpepper -

I absolutely appreciate your feedback about VirtuRace.com and agree with your assessment. We spent the bulk of 2005 feeling out the waters of demand and working out the kinks in our software from a search and data entry perspective.

For '06, we are coming fully out of testing and have launched a new interface this past week, and I can tell you that by the end of the month (January), we will be increasing the size of the database to cover about 90% of the running and triathlon events from 2004 and 2005. Just give us about 10 days to get the data online. We hope to be at 100% by the end of February and maintain that level of coverage going forward.

Lastly, we're adding new tools that will allow you to add links to results, which our team will add to the database within 24 hours.

Currently, here are the counts in the database:
Athletes: 1,562,131
Results: 2,851,898
Races: 9,647
Miles 35,074,042
Time: 47,326,639 hours, 33 mins

Pretty impressive for a free tool still in its infancy. With the help of the endurance community, and folks like yourself, we're reaching our goal of becoming the most complete database of endurance results on the planet. '06 will be that year!

Regards,

Troy Busot & the VirtuRace Team

virturace,
would it be helpful to be alerted to events that we've competed in but are not posted?

Tri Hard,

Yes, in fact, we have just today added a link at the top of each page "Did we miss a race?
Tell Us About It"

You can click it and send an email directly to the data team. Just include the name of the race(s) and link(s) to the results if you have it and we will add them asap. We will always give priority to our registered athletes.

As I said above, in the next 10 days or so, we're going to be adding about 100 races from '05 that we have been holding back so if we missed yours, be sure to add it and we'll include it immediately.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us along the way,

Happy Racing!

Virturace,
I want to compliment you on your site, it provides tremendous information that is easy to access (including swim speed, bike speed and run pace is AWESOME). A member of your staff sent me a very quick and pleasant reply to an e-mail I had sent earlier. I have one suggestion that may or may not be possible: in addition to being able to see complete results it would be great if we could see all of our results (just mine) on one page, so that one could compare splits throughout the season.

Can't wait until you have all the races up on your website.

Tri Hard,

Thanks a million - we really apreciate it!

To answer your question - just click on the "My Profile + Settings" link in the black bar near the top of any page. Make sure that you're logged in.

On that page that comes up, you can view all of your races as well as the Rivals feature.

With Rivals, we show you a list of all of the people that you have raced against at least 25% of your races, shows your win/loss record against them, and allows you to compare one or more of them to see the time differences for each race that you have in common.

To illustrate, here's my Profile Page: Troy Busot's Profile Page
and here is my Rivals Page: Troy Busot's Rivals Page

We've got some other great features that we're launching this week as well as a ton of results - mainly from '04-05, but we have a lot of the bigger races' results dating as far back as '96.

Virturace,
About how long should it take for those races that I noted weren't included to be included? It's been about two weeks and they haven't been posted yet. Just wondering.

Thanks
