i haven't been to yoga in a while. but if i go in the "down dog" position and then go up on my toes ( what's that called? up dog?) that's painful. it also hurts just walking. it's tolerable but i can feel something bigger brewing...
I've had something similar sounding to that. Mine was a complete tear in the arch ligaments. I ran on it for a year with plenty of pain, but nothing ever got worse. It took a month or two to heal once I took a real break.
yes amy, when i did down dog it would kill me, pain was on the side of the heal into the arch. i forget what i did to fix it. i think i posted on here about the problem. i have to think ... i know i used ice and advil, and some heat

ok... at least i know you both got over it! my friend (pro cyclist) at the bike shop says he gets the same thing peridically . he says stretching the calves on an inclined surface really helps. will do advil too.

when i extend my ankle and point my toes i feel a strain on the instep of my arch. it started last week after a run. i felt it coming on at mile three when i ran on the treadmill today. it feels swollen now.
i had a reflexology treatment this afternoon but she was afraid to dig too deep. now i'm gonna stretch, apply ice and arnica gel.
anybody ever had this or something similar?
i had plantar fascitis in the past... this is totally diferent.
i'm gonna see an orthopod next week if it continues.
