I'm an IRONMAN!!!
Congrats!
I was at the venue and watched the race - tough conditions out there.
It is an awesome accomplishment.
I'll be out there next year.

Awesome dude! congrat!
Congratulations!
Will you be doing a write up so we can oooh and aaaah at your report and your amazing experience? Each report I read instigates thoughts of IMC 2008. :D

CONGRATULATIONS johnj919! I was disappointed with my time, mostly due to the cr@ppy run time (had to walk the first 3 miles-tummy problems) so I know what thats like, But again, who cares you did it!!!!! You are an IRONMAN!!!! WOO HOOO!
Toni -you shoud seriously think about IMC :) I am doing it again!!!! It was fun (seriously, other than the heat and the headwinds, I loved it!!)
Congrats! I heard it was a tough course!
Brittda -- stop tempting people with IMC for next year! Luckily it's sold out so would take getting in through another race ;)

I'm definitely serious about it. It's just a matter of when. :) I'm waiting until I get back to living in Seattle so I can get a coach and join a tri club. AKA my fantasy life. :D Can't wait!

Congrats John!!!
Awaiting your race report. From what I have heard so far it was brutal.
Toni- IMAZ might still have a few spots left?? Or wait about a 1 1/2 months to sign up for IMFL

Gotta finish school first, otherwise I'd flunk out. That would not be good and I think my parents would be furious with me. One more year . . .

not to give you any bad ideas toni, but you could do the race as the Ironman Collegiate Championship... which my friend won at WI!! :D

I was thinking of that collgiate championship thing. Can Canadians from Canadian univeristies do it?

The only requirements I see are "Competition is allocated to full-time college students only, and students must be enrolled full-time during the fall semester of 2005 to be eligible", at least in that article. So I don't see why not. Aren't you already signed up though? I thought they had a different signup process, but again could be wrong.

Nice, dude. Congratulations!! On a day like Sunday, forget the flippin' time and just get to the finish line....and avoid the med tent and IV bags if possible! :)
Molina sent me this last year after I had a crappy race at CdA: "Plan B (and there is ALWAYS a plan B) is get yourself across the finish line. It (an IM) is always hard. If it wasn’t then it wouldn’t be worth doing." :)
Toni- you don't need to wait for a tri club...I don't belong to one :)
kyillee- If you want to do it, I am going up to sign up next year and volunteer for the race. You can sign up one additional person so..... you too could do 07 :D
I know, but I find it's easier to stay motivated if I have people to train with. It's something I've always wanted to do. :) Maybe I'll just come and harrass you in Kirkland and have you tell me all of your IM secrets. ;)
Hmmm . . . collegiate championships. Do you have to qualify, other than being a full time student?

Awesome on finishing. Someday I'll be up there, going for half next summer. Been doin' sprints but time to move on as I'm being told by friends.
The collegiate thing sounds awesome, have to look it up and scope.
Again, awesome job and congrats!!!!
Toni -- I don't think you have to qualify. They must have more details on it somewhere... but I'm not sure...
Brittda -- I may take you up on that... or I might try to find a place to qualify :)

Congratulations. That is fabulous and amazing.

Toni- if you are around in the "area" we could certainly train together. I will be focusing on marathons and probably do Pacific Crest 1/2 IM next summer then dig in for IMC after that;
kyillee- you have a year to think about it :)..just let me know
Hey, hey. Feels good eh? Congrats and welcome to the 140.6 club hehe. It was an accomplishment but you (as we all) must be upset it's over. Guess you'll just have to join us and do ANOTHER!!!

Good work John. Congradulations, you did it, and on a crazy tough day!! Now you know that you can do an Ironman anywhere, in any conditions. Talked to Mark from Ironman North America at the airport, and he said more DNF's than any other Ironman- ever. So have fun at Placid, it'll feel like a walk in the park!! Ya, and ignore your time, just a day to finish, I don't know anyone that went within 40 minutes of their goal. rest up- matt

I did it! I finished Ironman Wisconsin! My time was a little disappointing (13:55:17) but who cares. I am an Ironman. We had something like 400 DNF's! Can you believe it? People were dropping off like flies. Makes me really glad for all those 100+ degree training days I had here in TN. It was miserable at the time, but I guess it paid dividends. I can't wipe the smile off my face. Next stop...IM Lake Placid '06. Madison, WI is a great town and the volunteers were AMAZING!
