Wait til next season..........
Nice job ant. Way to gain soem time from last year. Work on your running now and you should be ready to PR again next year.
Congrats on the improvement and the age group place!
Good Luck next year!
congrats ant
I too am planning on an OLY attempt next year, I haven't made my mind up yet which one. Do you have your eyes on any?

Great job ant.
I wasn't out there, but I heard from a few people it was hellishly hot out there. I waited until evening to do a brick and came home looking like I'd been swimming.
Keep training for next year.
Also, just a recommendation. The Chateau Elan duathlon, in late Oct is a fun one. I did it last year and will be back this year for a repeat performance.
Make sure to treat yourself to the post race celebratory beverage of choice,
and after some Gatorade. treat yourself to dinner with a drink and an early night.
Get some rest.
Keep up your fitness so you will be ready next spring.
Nothing to it, but to do it
Thanks guys.
rredding - I'm not sure which oly to do - if you have any suggestions, lmk.
ubdawg - I also did Chateau Elan's Du last year and am planning on doing it again this year. And yeah, it was hellishly hot. Training all summer in this southern heat never felt as bad as it did on Saturday. Can't wait for fall!

hey ant,
congrats on a good season and a great race despite the heat and humidity. i'm sure the weather conditions had a lot to do with your performance on the run. it's so hard to find energy at the end of the race when all your electrolytes are dripping out of your pores. you beat your prior time and did great on the swim... awesome! how the heck did your chain fall off? i've had my chain fall off before the bike leg but never during. that's a real bummer.

Hey Ant,
I was right there with you Saturday....and yes it was hot!!! A good Oly for you to try next year is the one at West Point. Its a time trial start so there is no mass bashing going on in the water and the course is relatively flat. Congrats on your AG hardware.

I had my last tri of the season this past Saturday at High Falls, Ga. The park opened at 6:30 - we got there at 6:40 and had to park waaay back - you guys are a bunch of early risers. It was real hot and humid, at least 100%. Trekked all our gear to t1, set up and I realized I left my goggles in the truck. Walked the 1/2 mile back to get them then back to t1, okay so that's my warmup. Made my way down to the beach and realized I still had my flipflops on, walked back to t1 AGAIN - the brain just hadn't started working yet. Had a pretty good swim - about 15 minutes, but real lightheaded out of the water. Staggered back to t1 and off on the bike still a little dizzy. About mile two, my chain fell off - the tri gods definitely were not with me Saturday. Managed to finish the bike without killing myself, then on to the run. I have to say, of all my races, for some reason (maybe the heat) this was my worst run ever - somewhere around 32 minutes - I just felt drained and had nothing left.
All things considered, I did better then I thought I would. I took about 7 minutes off my time from the same course last year (partly due to the fact that I rode a mtb last year). I haven't seen the official results yet, but unofficially I came in third in my age group - there were only two other women besides me :D one good thing about aging!
Now, there's a couple of duathlons in the fall and hopefully an oly next season. Thanks for all the tips, advice and motivation - I'll be needing a lot more to train for next season!
Good luck to all who are still racing & happy training to the rest of you - Ant
ps - thanks tribro for all your hard work - we appreciate it.
