First time on bike since vacation. ~3 weeks since last ride. Robe MTB in CO, but it was a chairlift to the top ride (my outta shape bud wouldnt even consider riding up on the bike) So this was a reorientation ride. I had also done some position adjustments, I have been gradually working down to "textbook" aero since I got the bike and this last adjustment did it.
Between vacation and new position, it took 20 mins before I could spin above 90 RPM, but after that, I was somewhat ok. Spun 90- 100 RPM @ 20mph for 20 miles in mid range gearing. Felt good to know my slow day was 20 mph :)
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
Ran 18 in the heat and humidity...great googly-moogly it sucked! pre-run weight was 163. post run...157,so the rest of the day has been "drink boy, drink!"

Last "peak" week before race week for IMC: 40 min easy run in the morning. Afternoon mtb ride. Route was up Phil's Trail over Heli Pad, then down Storm King to COD and home as fast as I could get down before the friggin' rain and lighting

15mi run in the same heat and humidity that Anton faced here in D.C. -- did I pass you on the trails!?! I too weighed myself pre- and post-. Accounting for the fluids I drank during the run, I lost 7-1/2lbs this morning in just a few hours this morning. Unreal.
45 mile group ride extremely fast and I am feeling it tonight.... Tons of fun though cant waite till next sun.

Whether you think you can, or you think you can't you are right!
3200m lake swim - about an hour.
Then off to a BBQ. Lamb slow-roasted on a spit over coals for several hours. Yum.

Raced today. Felt great! Swimming in the Pacific was a new experience for me. This was the first time I had to deal with real currents and waves. Fell when running on the mossy rocks to get out of the water and bloodied my hand, but didn't realize it until I was putting on my gloves for the bike. My family came to cheer for me and it was their first time at a triathlon. I just found out that I finished second in my age group! =)

Well bike still at the shop to get the chain repaired. i guess with Campy you can't just swap out a link. So left it to get a tune-up as well. Ended up on the mountain bike. First time in a long time. 3 1/2 hours, pretty tough, legs are burning now.
