Road 2 hours 15 minutes today. Went up the mountain again this week. Trying to do that a few times a month at the least. Felt pretty good. Hit 45 mph coming down, scary (but more comfortable with it than last week).

Ride in to work (25km). Then, I have to take the minivan home. Leaving for a business trip to Ft. St. James for a week, then back and IMC bound. Continuing to taper with swims and 15-20min runs over the week. No bike till pretty much IMC :(

Did a 100 minute non-stop swim last night - just a comfortable easy pace did about 2.75 miles. Wanted to feel comfortable breaking the 2.4. barrier. Felt pretty energized afterwards.
Did a 90 minute hard bike this morning - That is becomming a huge bummer - It is dark so early again- having to wait until 5:30 now, and that is pushing it. Don't want to think about using the trainer in the mornings. ARG!
Core work and yoga stuff tonight.

Going home, having a BBQ, and then maybe out for a quick 20k ride, 3k run. Low intensity before my race on Sunday.

I know the feeling about downhill speed. I hit 87kph a week or so ago and was absolutely terrified. Haven't been over 70 since and even that is fast.

Did you know the downhill speed record on a bike is 212kph? Thats ridiculous.

-1700 yards in the pool. Wish i could get at least 2000 but time wise it's hardly possible. I wish my pool opened 30 minutes earlier.
-25 mile commute.
-Maybe a tempo 10k this evening.

Went to the mechanic today to have my oil changed and brakes checked out. I brought my bike with me so I could bike to one of my favorite coffee shops nearby and do some reading while my car was being taken care of. After an hour, I returned to the shop where they tell me there's something wrong and they actually have to spend a few hours on it. I was so glad I brought my bike. I left my car there, and rode home. It was nice and early in the morning too, so it felt great.

Climbed and decended Pawnee Pass with a 40lb pack. Then climbed and decended another 1000 feet up the side of some mountain on the way home. 4 days, three nights, 32 + miles before altitude adjustments. Heck of a trip.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

Open ocean swim w/my TEAM. Big surf 3-5 w/occasional 8-10 ft sets. The lifeguards wouldn't let us go out due to the rip currents. So we taught a couple people on our team to duck dive under the waves because they didn't have any wave experience. Yummy dinner at a mexican place named Fred's. :-) Need to put in a hard workout today though.

Slept late...ate a big honkin' breakfast..went to the gym and pushed some metal around...easy short bike ride...drank some beers.

On the speed thing...hit 58 MPH last year at IMLP on the drop into Keene...scared the bejeepers out of me...but oh man it was fun!

I couldn't hit the pool so I jumped in the shower and had T1 set up outside. did T1 and biked for 21 min. Not really sure how far that came out to I am guessing about 4 miles. ha ha. then I ran for 24 and that was like 5k. It felt great though!!! Kinda short next to what everyone else is doing but it was great for me. I just have to hit the bike a little harder in the next few days.

Yeah it was pretty funny! My family stood around laughing at me. I wanted to test out the bike ride when I was wet though. It worked I guess but It was pretty damn funny to see.
