first half IM
Yes, I too had the same fears. It's no big deal, really. Just make sure you can run a 1/2Mary before and do a few 100km rides, you'll be fine. Swim a few 2100s as well. The swim is not that much farther. If you can do those things you will ace it. Try a brick after long rides (e.g., 3 hrs.) and run for 45 min after. Once you can do that, your set. Remember the biggest thing about all these triathlons.....IT'S ALL IN THE MIND. After training and a good base , if you think you can you WILL. What have you been doing as far as training to date?

The 1/2 IM shouldn't be a problem if you can handle Olympic distances.
The swim distance is only a little further - so that shouldn't be an issue.
The only thing you really need to do is bump up your training - to handle the longer bike and run distances. And of course do some bricks. It isn't difficult to simply finish a 1/2.
I did my first half last year after only doing sprints and 1 olympic distance the previous year. I just picked up a 1/2IM training plan and was comfortably ready for the distance on race day. This year doing 3 1/2's and then a full IM next season.
So, just target a race, put down your money, and train, train, train. Then enjoy the race.
