I'm a mountain biker and I do some trail running, so I've been looking for an off-road tri to complement this and to help me prepare for next year's Death Race (yay!). Does anyone know where I might find one in Western Canada? I haven't had any luck.

A good place to start -> http://www.trifind.com/int/can.html

Good luck in the Death Race -- a friend has been trying to get me to train for it ... I may need until 2007.

Gosh, thanks for all the help. I can see I'll have to make my way over to B.C. in order to do this sort of thing. Righto!

I hope you were able to get to the Buntzen Lake Tri last weekend. (site of previous xterra and put on by the same people now XTC series) There are loads of catagories, very well run. They had set up a Canmore Xterra last year but didn't this year as the trails are being renovated. I emailed hoping they would have it again for '06 and perhaps if fellow Albertans did the same we would have a local race to enjoy (or not as the case may be).
The back country format is fantastic. Way more exciting than on road but an Olympic distance feels like a lot more when up and down the mountains.
