Flatbar Bikes
I assume that the flatbar road bike you are referring to is a hybrid type bike? Kind of looks like a a mountain bike with skinnier tires?
The numbness can be from several things. Fit can be an issue. The first thing I would recommend would be a good pair of gloves. They can help a great deal. The bar ends could be a good idea also as they allow more hand positions. Changing hand positions now and then can allow you to spread the pressure over different parts of the hand.
Good luck.
thanks... that's what i was thinking... yes it's a hybrid.. looks like a mountain bike (a little different geometry) with skinny tires and racing gearing... i figured it would make more sense riding since i am living in belgium and the place that i live in has no dirt trails... but lots of road paths... and cobblestone :)
A bend in the road is not the end of the road … Unless you fail to make the turn.
any other opinions out there?

Does anyone ride a flatbar roadbike? I bought one to transition from mountain bikes and have found my hands getting numb during rides. If you have one, do you use bar ends? Would bar ends help alleviate any of the numbness? Should i have my bike shop do any adjustments? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks
