Burn The Bridges Run in Charleston, SC
i know its a little late but I just found this site and I live in Summerville (15 mins from Charleston). A friend and I ran it also and we were faster for this than we were for the Cooper River Bridge run.
Hey I ran that one too!! I have my finisher's medal hanging in my office right now. I love the cooper river bridges and I loved to run across em. WHen I lived in charleston I would run over them every saturday morning. The burn the bridges run weather was def better than the bridge run this year... I think my nipples are still raw from running in a soaked shirt for the 10 K. I didn't run the burn the bridges run for time just for a respectful, and sad, farewell run.
How about the new bridge what do you think the times are going to be like this year?
IMy goal is to try to finish top 15 in my age group this coming year. I was 24th in 2005.
Trevor Douglas YOU ARE AN IRONMAN!
Hey guys...
Just checked back after a while away from the site...
My brother is a Marathoner and soon to be Triathlete and he lives on Daniel Island. I will be back next april to run the NEW cooper river bridge. The alexander is a beautiful creation - Check out my BLOG for a great picture of all three... (the grace, pearman, and alexander) that was taken just before the demo started...
Maybe we can all get together next year before (or after) the race...
My burn the bridges time was 1:05:??
my last 10K I ran in october was 55:30

I did the tri that was on Daniel Island at the Family Cup Tennis Center. That was my second tri and I really enjoyed that one.
Cooper River was 45:00
Burn The Bridges was 43:45
Sounds like a plan for next years Cooper River.

I had the opportunity to run over the old Bridges one last time. Those of you in the lowcountry know the bridges as the "Grace" and the "Pearman". Anyone who has been to Charleston has seen these trussle bridges. The new bridge, the "Arthur", was opened some time within the last two months and is quite the spectacle (see link of the Arthur under construction). The run came out to just over 6.5 miles (according to my brothers Times GPS unit). The weather was GREAT - overcast and about 10 degrees cooler than the previous week. I carried the pace I wanted (we won't discuss the actual time). The views were beautiful, the people were pleasant, all in all I had a good time.
